WHAT IS H.265 ?
NOTE TO ALL STAFF,
As you all know by now, we are releasing the new H.265 video codec later this month. It is important to understand a few points regarding this new video codec and what it means to the products we are selling and what it means to the customer or end user.
H.264 and H.265 are known as a video codec's and are the technology responsible for compressing the video file so that it can be transmitted in small packets over the bonded network and is considered a lossless compression technology, which means that you will not see any degradation in picture quality.
1. H.265 will only be available on the Expert model and no other models at the moment
2. H.265 is the replacement for the standard video codec that has been used for many years (H.264)
3. H.265 promises to compress the video file 2x more than the H.264 without any picture quality loss
4. H.265 will reduce bandwidth requirements and consumption by an average of 40%
5. H.265 is only being offered by MVP globally and no other competitor will be releasing anything similar for at least 1 year
6. Customers that have purchased previous units with H.264 (older Expert model), cannot upgrade to the H.265 because the motherboard and CPU are different
Hope these few points clarify what H.265 is and why we are using it.

Re: WHAT IS H.265 ?
Dear Sir.
That means in H.265 minimum bandwidth for live would be around 250 kbps. Like in H.264 we required 500 kbps for live telecast.
Is it Right?
Thanks & Regards

Re: WHAT IS H.265 ?
Hi Shashi ,
Before h.264 or in other video formats the bandwidth requirement is quite high
When the h.265 will actual start the video standard will change and achieve a new height
No Wonder by then we will start testing compatibility of sending 4 K and 6 K videos

Re: WHAT IS H.265 ?
Dear Sir,
Thank you for the detail information of H.265. I would appreciate if you could advice how much B/W is required to transmit HD and SD when we use H.265 so that I can communicate same to the customer.
I believe that if we use H.265 for compression at Tx ( Expert 265) then H.265 will be required for decompression. The customers from Vietnam and Thailand are asking for the new Brochure for Server with H.265 decompression.
I would appreciate if you could advice me on this.
Sincerely,
Jush

Re: WHAT IS H.265 ?
Hi Jush ,
To maintain the compatibility with the previous Server the h.264 and h.265 Tx output can be checked on the same old Server
